In August 2012, a Neohumanist Teacher training was held for the teachers of Gradinita Rasarit. AEN was pleased to invite special guest Elizabeth Lee, an experienced Neohumanist educator, who is an American living in Greece and who has set up and run various Neohumanist centers around the world, most recently in Malta and Greece. She led several workshops including “Brain, Emotions and Behavior”, Classroom management, yoga exercise games for kids. Didi A. Devapriya led a session on “Self-Regulation through play ” and Magda Zambet led a workshop on organizing educational spaces according to the Neohumanist Curriculum, and guided the annual curriculum content planning. Special guest Monica Eugeniu from Learning about gave a session in team building, guiding the kindergarten team to clarify the vision and mission statements of the kindergarten to reflect the values that motivate them.
“Inner Birthing: a Yoga based course for Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond” is a course developed by Elizabeth Lee, an American midwife and yoga teacher living and working in Greece, where she ran “The One World Children’s Circle,” a Neohumanist Early Childhood Education program, and prenatal courses at the Neohumanist Center. She now conducts training of trainers sessions internationally to multiply the best practices she developed in Greece.
AEN hosted an introductory session in August 2012, and plans to continue collaborating with Elizabeth in order to offer “Inner Birthing” classes in Bucharest for pregnant mothers and newborn infants. The course includes yoga-based stretching, breathing and relaxation exercises, proven to facilitate easier childbirth, as well as training in infant massage.
